Like a lot of people, our first cup of matcha was a disappointment — dusty, bitter, and dyed an unnatural neon green. It was nothing like the smooth, vivid bowl matcha is meant to be — a ritual with centuries of tradition behind it in Japan. So we set out to fix that: to bring the real thing to everyday mornings, without the ceremony feeling out of reach.

How our matcha is made
Our leaves are shade-grown and harvested from the first spring flush, when flavour and nutrients are at their peak. They’re then stone-ground in small batches into a fine, jewel-green powder. The result is naturally sweet and full of umami — none of the harsh bitterness of lower grades.
